designbypaper

01.10.2020 - 29.09.2021

This exhibition looks at the use of paper in design. It includes examples of design objects in small or large production series as well as storytelling, poetic and experimental works of art in paper that offer conceptual and critical comments on the field of design. Paper is gaining momentum today, as we strive for sustainability and technological advances are creating new possibilities for realizing the full potential of paper. designbypaper offers a snapshot of the important role this economical, natural yet also complex material has played over time and continues to play for contemporary designers. It also takes a peek at the role it can play on tomorrow’s design scene.

The exhibition’s three main themes are:

  • Background

  • Experimentation and aesthetics

  • What’s next?

We are also looking at sustainability in regards to reusage of paper and cardboard.

The exhibition is curated and designed by architect Tina Midtgaard.
